ATTENTION News Affectiong the Hobby: Please Read - Everyones Help Needed on National Level for Alabama Issue.

The FMDAC extends a heartfelt thank you to Garrett Electronics, First Texas Products, David Lorenzi and Paresky Flitt & Company CPA's, for their donations to the FMDAC in honor of Sondra Bernzweig. Sondra passed away on September 29, 2017. She was the founder of Detector Electronics. Here is a link to her Obituary.  

The Federation of Metal Detector and Archaeological Clubs Inc. (FMDAC) was organized in 1984 as a legislative and educational organization and incorporated, as a non-profit, non-commercial, non-partisan organization.

FMDAC's MissionThe FMDAC is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and protection for the hobby of recreational metal detecting and prospecting.

FMDAC's PurposeTo unite, promote and encourage the establishment of metal detecting clubs.  To preserve the sport / hobby of recreational metal detecting and prospecting.  To make available to FMDAC clubs and Independent members information pertaining to the hobby and to keep members informed as to active legislation.

FMDAC's Goal is to Educate and inform the public as to the merits of recreational metal detecting.
